This is the Cisco campus at Green Park in Reading. We have a had a week for truly excellent weather for March in the UK and being able to take a sunlit stroll around the lake at lunch time while eating ice-cream is just incredible. Interesting to find something so peaceful so close to the M4.
So, when I created the photoblog, I wanted it to give a bit of an insight into my life as well, which is where today’s picture comes from. While it doesn’t show off my photographic skill, it does show off how inventive we can be when we really want something to work.
These are two Cisco 3560 48-port switches. One with a broken power supply, one with a broken mainboard. We thought we could swap the power supply from one into the other, to create one working box from two dead ones – but we needed to test it first.
BEHOLD!
I really love this stuff, although its stupidly expensive over here in Brussels. Like…€3 a can! Beer is cheaper, but isn’t as good for grinding CCIE..
While I’m here, updates should be coming a bit more regularly from next week on. It’ll be iPhone pictures I’m afraid to say but I will try and do the best I can. I refuse, however, to use Instagram.
